They were easy to work with, very responsive, and provided a lot of flexibility with adding and removing items from our order. They arrived on time to set up and take down the equipment. Our wedding took place this last Sunday. My wife chose the venue but I was adamant that we should get a tent. The process was much more difficult than I thought it would be and I was starting to feel overwhelmed. We found out our venue had booked a wedding the day before (also requiring a tent, albeit smaller) so getting a tent set up for us on the day of was going to be difficult... I called numerous tent rental companies that told me the job would be too difficult without at least a few days to get everything set up (considering the size of the tent and what we'd need). One person even told me that they'd typically need 3 days to a week to set up a tent with the size and decorations we needed and was basically unhelpful. Eventually I contacted Nolans/Mccarthys and they were able to accomodate our requests. I worked with Ela and she went above and beyond in making the rental process as easy as possible. She gave great suggestions in regards to decor and assured me that they would get everything finished in time... Including decorating and setting up a custom stage which is typically used in a traditional South Asian wedding. We eventually settled on a 100 foot sail cloth tent with two types of lighting, gold chavari chairs, a dance floor, dessert dishes, and chafing dishes. When we arrived at the venue at 10:30 AM on the day of the wedding we found the tent already set up, chandaliers hung, bistro lighting set up, dance floor set up, and our stage was finished and beautifully decorated. Ask for Ela if you go through Nolans/ Mccarthys; she is warm and kind and made the process so much easier for us. I will definitely go through them again if I ever need a tent!read more

We rented multiple tables and linens for a wedding. They worked with us through multiple iterations leading up to the event as we were planning. They were very quick to respond and had no issue adjusting the quote. We picked up what we needed to transport ourselves and had no issues. They have much more inventory than we took advantage of but will be on the list for any events that come our way and need furniture/linens.read more

Jeff and the McCarthy team come through for me every.single.time. I'm a wedding planner based in Chicago, but I am from Rochester and had my wedding in Ithaca, NY 4 years ago. We booked McCarthy's to set up for both, our Wedding & Reception. They were willing to set up our tents 3-4 days in advance, which allowed our wedding planners more time to design the spaces. Furthermore, they ran out of pile wood, which was our choice of flooring for our Wedding; however, they upgraded the flooring to Grey Pickle wood, which is significantly more expensive, without extra charge. They have a VAST collection to pick from to create your very own venue and we greatly appreciated their hard work & generosity. Highly Recommend!read more

We are so happy with the service and quality of the rental. We rented a tent for our parent's 50th anniversary and from contracting to final payment, everything was so smooth and well taken care of. I am a mom who had to transition our daughters wedding to our home. I had McCarthy tents already reserved, but with change in plans they were most accommodating. Jeff was always there to answer my calls and questions. From the person answering the phone to the delivery people everyone is professional and top notch. Customer service is their top priority. The wedding was spectacular! All went well, starting with the weather. McCarthy's wonderful crew set up the tents in the POURING RAIN 2 days in advance. It kept the ground underneath somewhat drier, and thus was completely dry by Saturday. The service was awesome - the staff always provided prompt answers to my many questions over 6 months, and had great flexibility near the end with my additions and subtractions. I was quite impressed with how spacious the 40'x100' tent was with 200+ people inside it! I highly recommend McCarthy's for any event!read more

The tent we got from McCarthy's was a big beautiful double poled white tent that immediately brought a festive look to the yard. A crew came, led (I think) by Adam Bentivegna; they were responsible and responsive and a pleasure to work with. LIghts on the tent added a welcome touch. I also got the 12' x 12' dance floor which for my party was a little small (around 80 people) but aside from that, everything went smoothly with getting the tent up and down and I would gladly return as a customer again.read more

The day has not quite arrived yet. So far the service has been very pleasant and efficient. But they can not pinpoint a 4 hour window when they may arrive to set up. To just say they will call you 30 minutes prior is not helpful. When you are planning a large party, that's not exactly a timetable that works. I would think by the day before, you could pinpoint either morning or afternoon for a delivery schedule.read more

We have been renting from McCarthy's for almost 10 years now. We use them every Thanksgiving and for the occasional party as needed. They are the best. They are very reliable and professional. Our only negative comment would be that their equipment is not always clean.read more

McCarthy Tents and their staff are the best of the best! Working with them was PERFECTION from start to finish! During this crazy past Covid year, my husband and I changed our wedding plans from a destination wedding to a wedding in our very own backyard this pat June 2021. We had never planned an event before let alone a wedding and truly had no roadmap for such a thing! Working with McCarthy MADE OUR WEDDING DREAMS COME TRUE! The staff at McCarthy is wonderful, knowledgeable, attentive and helpful! Over the six months of planning, I had endless questions and they answered every single one promptly and thoroughly. They have a vast selection of what feels like EVERYTHING you need to bring your wedding vision to life! They provided our tenting, stage for our band, tables, chairs, lighting, generator, dance floor, linens, bar, cocktail tables AND MORE! Jeff and the McCarthy team come through for me every.single.time. I'm a wedding planner based in Chicago, but I am from Rochester and had my wedding in Ithaca, NY 4 years ago. I met them through a friend at the time, and they were absolutely spectacular in the planning process -- meeting me at my (very) detailed level to help plan a large tent wedding in Ithaca. Jeff provided helpful guidance about tent size, layout and set-up as well as quantities for all items from chairs and tables to napkins and coffee cups. Fast forward and they are the only rental company I recommend to clients getting married in Upstate NY. They're transparent about pricing, are incredibly professional, respond quickly, and have saved me on more than one occasion. We booked McCarthy's to set up for both, our Wedding & Reception. They were willing to set up our tents 3-4 days in advance, which allowed our wedding planners more time to design the spaces. Furthermore, they ran out of pile wood, which was our choice of flooring for our Wedding; however, they upgraded the flooring to Grey Pickle wood, which is significantly more expensive, without extra charge. They have a VAST collection to pick from to create your very own venue and we greatly appreciated their hard work & generosity. Highly Recommend!read more

We are so happy with the service and quality of the rental. We rented a tent for our parent's 50th anniversary and from contracting to final payment, everything was so smooth and well taken care of. I am a mom who had to transition our daughters wedding to our home. I had McCarthy tents already reserved, but with change in plans they were most accommodating. Jeff was always there to answer my calls and questions. From the person answering the phone to the delivery people everyone is professional and top notch. Customer service is their top priority. They calmed all my fears. The week before they looked at the weather forecast with me and made adjustments to our plans and order. I would never go anywhere else! The service is top notch, from the owner to the team. Even the delivery guys were super nice and professional. They have beautiful linens, chairs, tables, you name it! For a wedding or any kind of party, go to McCarthy. They are wonderful, knowledgeable, flexible and the prices are very fair. They saved my wedding day when I needed a bunch of changes to my contract at the last minute due to a rainy forecast. I cannot say enough good things!read more

I went to McCarthy Tents & Events to add bistro lighting for a little ambiance under the wedding reception tent and they did not disappoint! The wedding was spectacular! All went well, starting with the weather. McCarthy's wonderful crew set up the tents in the POURING RAIN 2 days in advance. It kept the ground underneath somewhat drier, and thus was completely dry by Saturday. The service was awesome - the staff always provided prompt answers to my many questions over 6 months, and had great flexibility near the end with my additions and subtractions. I was quite impressed with how spacious the 40'x100' tent was with 200+ people inside it! I highly recommend McCarthy's for any event!read more

We had a fantastic experience working with McCarthy Tents & Events. They came highly recommended by the caterer we chose for our barn wedding and did not disappoint. The tent we got from McCarthy's was a big beautiful double poled white tent that immediately brought a festive look to the yard. A crew came, led (I think) by Adam Bentivegna; they were responsible and responsive and a pleasure to work with. LIghts on the tent added a welcome touch. I also got the 12' x 12' dance floor which for my party was a little small (around 80 people) but aside from that, everything went smoothly with getting the tent up and down and I would gladly return as a customer again.read more

The day has not quite arrived yet. So far the service has been very pleasant and efficient. But they can not pinpoint a 4 hour window when they may arrive to set up. To just say they will call you 30 minutes prior is not helpful. When you are planning a large party, that's not exactly a timetable that works. I would think by the day before, you could pinpoint either morning or afternoon for a delivery schedule.read more

I connected with Mike (based out of Buffalo) at McCarthy's for ALL my rental needs for our backyard wedding (tent, tables and chairs, lights, ovens, grills, plates, silverware, linens, EVERYTHING) and had a truly fantastic experience. With all the moving pieces that go into a wedding the rentals was a piece I never worried about.
